Posted in the topic What is the function of QSFP? in the forum Off-Topic Discussions

    Hi,

The QSFP 100G PSM4 converts parallel electrical input signals into parallel optical signals by the Layser Array and then transmitted in parallel on the MTP/MPO single mode ribbon fiber. Upon reaching the receiving termination, the PIN array converts the parallel optical signals into parallel electrical signals.

    Hi,

SFP, SFP+ or QSFP are all types of transceivers used to connect a switch or other network device to copper or fibre cable. They are most commonly used to add fibre ports.

    Hi,

A QSFP28 is a Quad (4-channel) small form factor hot pluggable fibre optical transceiver used for 100 Gigabit Ethernet (100GbE) data communications applications. The QSFP28 integrates 4 transmit and 4 receiver channels. The number 28 means each lane carries up to 28G data rate.

Posted in the topic Is QSFP-40G-SR4 male or female? in the forum Off-Topic Discussions
    May 29, 2023 9:25 PM EDT

    Hi,

According to IEEE standards, MPO optics in a 40G QSFP+ SR4 transceiver are always male connectors, and therefore will always accept female MPO connectors.

    Hi,

    40km

What is the maximum supported distance for 25G SFP28 transceivers? The maximum currently supported distance for 25G is 40km using SFP-25G-ER transceiver module.
