The largest Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in the world, Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) is the best NGO in Jaipur that provides rehabilitation for almost 2 million people with disabilities. BMVSS offers all of its help, including free use of calipers, artificial limbs, and other aids and devices.
Since its establishment, BMVSS has fitted/provided artificial limbs for the handicapped in India (Jaipur Foot variant), calipers, and other aids and appliances to more than 2 million amputees and polio victims worldwide, primarily in India.
The Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) was established in Jaipur in 1975 to commemorate Bhagwan Mahaveer 2500th year of nirvana. Bhagwan Mahaveer was a 24th tirthankara (supreme preacher) of Jainism who advocated compassion for everyone and nonviolence. He lived at the same time as Lord Buddha.
A secular, non-religious, non-governmental, non-political, non-sectarian, non-regional, and not-for-profit charitable organization called BMVSS was founded to aid physically challenged people, especially the weak and disadvantaged in terms of finances.
Mr. DR Mehta, the founder and chief patron of BMVSS, himself experienced a horrific event that led to the creation of the organization. BMVSS has expanded to become a national and worldwide organization. In India, there are 23 branches of and you can make online donation for disabled in Indiafor BMVSS.
The organization operates a joint venture in Colombia, two partner centers in Pakistan, three in the Philippines, and four elsewhere. In addition to setting up independent prosthetic fitting facilities in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, it has conducted more than 50 fitment camps and set up its offices in 26 different countries such as Fiji, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
In addition to its 24 permanent centers, BMVSS also conducts roughly 50 on-the-spot limb/caliper fitting camps and free wheelchair charity in India annually in various districts and outlying regions of India as part of its outreach initiative.
The technicians travel to these camps in hired vehicles carrying supplies or they use the BMVSS mobile workshops. When the patients arrive at the campgrounds with the help of local organizers and request the limbs, these teams set up temporary workshops there. Website: http://jaipurfoot.org
