LONDON Tyler Higbee Jersey , Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Britain's first driverless vehicle to run on British streets was officially unveiled Wednesday at a government launch event.

The prototype 'LUTZ Pathfinder' pod is an electric-powered two-seat car designed to work on sidewalks and pedestrianized areas at a maximum speed of 24 kilometers per hour.

The pods are being built by RDM Group, one of Britain's fastest growing advanced engineering companies, and will be equipped with sensor and navigation technology provided by the University of Oxford's Mobile Robotics Group.

The pods will be tested on an a route in Milton Keynes in summer. This will be the first time driverless vehicles to be used in Britain in an urban community setting.

"The projects we are now funding in Greenwich, Brisol Jared Goff Jersey , Milton Keynes and Coventry will help to ensure we are world leaders in this field and able to benefit from what is expected to be a 900 billion pounds (1.37 trillion U.S. dollars) industry by 2025," UK Government Business Secretary Vince Cable said at Wednesday's launch event.

"The UK is at the forefront of this emerging new technology and poised to become the leading supplier of autonomous vehicles and systems around the world." said Steve Yianni, CEO of project leaders, The Transport Systems Catapult (TSC).

The TSC is one of seven elite technology and innovation centres established and overseen by Britain's innovation agency Samson Ebukam Jersey , Innovate UK.

Based in Milton Keynes, TSC is a world-class collaboration facility for innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers and business leaders. It is a partner in a 30-million-dollar consortium set up to create a full city demonstrator that will eventually see public trials with a fleet of around 40 driverless pods using pedestrianized areas.

PHNOM PENH, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia's Military Police has arrested a military general and close aide of former Phnom Penh Municipal Court director Aing Mealdey who was removed from his position Wednesday following alleged corruption.

The arrest was made on Thursday night.

"The Takeo provincial military police arrested Pich Prum Mony Cooper Kupp Jersey ,a brigadier general and deputy chief of staff at the Royal Cambodian Army, at a pagoda while he was praying," Kheng Tito, spokesman for the National Military Police Aaron Donald Jersey , told Xinhua on Friday,adding that the arrest was made following an arrest warrant issued by the Phnom Penh Municipal Court.

"He is a close person to the ousted chief judge (Aing Mealdey)," he said. "He is accused of obstructing the work of public officials and using the car's number plate of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces illegally."

He said Pich Prum Mony was brought to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court Thursday night for questioning.

Aing Mealdey was officially removed from his position on Wednesday, a day after Prime Minister Hun Sen requested the Supreme Council of Magistracy to look into the court for irregularly releasing the parents of fugitive tycoon Thong Sarath Todd Gurley II Jersey , who is wanted for masterminding the murder of businessman Ing Meng Chue in November.

The premier said a court judge ordered the release of the couple irregularly-possibly in exchange of 5 million U.S. dollars bribe.

According to Kheng Tito, the arrest of Pich Prum Mony was also related to the release of parents of fugitive tycoon Thong Sarath.

Aing Mealdey requested in July that Pich Prum Mony help provide security and public order at the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, according to a letter that he sent to General Meas Sophea, commander of the Royal Cambodian Army.

The court freed fugitive tycoon Thong Sarath's parents on bail on Feb. 7 and the authorities arrested them back in prison on Sunday while they attempted to flee into Vietnam.

The couple were charged with illegally possessing 8 guns Greg Gaines Jersey , which were seized from their villas in December while the police hunted for their son, Thong Sarath, who is suspected of being the mastermind behind the murder of diamond and construction tycoon Ing Meng Chue on Nov. 22.
