NEW DELHI， April 20 (Xinhua) -- At least three Indian Navy personnel were wounded， one of them critically， in a blast aboard a naval ship， officials said Wednesday.
According to a spokesperson from the Indian Navy， the explosion took place on INS Nireekshak off Virginia en route Mumbai from Visakhapatnam on Saturday.
However， officials remained tight lipped over the matter.
"During the charging of diving bailout bottle， which is carried by divers in their diving helmet， one of the bottles exploded on April 16， wounding three personnel， one Indian Navy diver and two sailors，" an official said.
The wounded personnel were taken to military hospital at Trivandrum and later shifted to Mumbai， the spokesperson said.
Officials have ordered an inquiry into the blast.
Local media reports said the right leg of one of the sailors was amputated above the knee， while the condition of other two was stable.
