It won’t be wrong to say that if there are 2 underdog prospects for higher medical education abroad, it’s Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Thus, comparing them is a mammoth task.

Both countries are almost equally matched. Both offer almost all the important medical disciplines like -

    1. General Medicine

    2. Surgery

    3. Dentistry

    4. ENT

    5. Radiology

    6. Neurology

    7. Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology

    8. Obstetrics and Gynecology

    9. Pediatrics

    10. Legal Medicine and Medical Law, and a whole lot others.

One of the places where MBBS in Kazakhstan triumphs over its competitor is the affordability of education. On average, the fees here range around INR 14-15 Lakh for the entire 5-year MBBS program (including tuition, accommodation, and every other fee). Kyrgyz universities, however, charge a total of INR 19-20 Lakh for the entire program.

As far as the validity of both medical degrees is concerned, both these prospects meet the NMC guidelines pertaining to abroad MBBS. However, when it comes to the “duration of the course”, MBBS in Kyrgyzstan has a slight edge.

Both nations offer a 5-year MBBS program but recent reports have claimed that Kyrgyz universities are planning to make their courses 5.8 years long to meet the minimum duration criteria of the NMC Gazette i.e. 5.5 years.
