I am currently in Medical School and had to take a leave due to a hypomanic episode weeks ago that I feel like I haven't bounced back from. I take seroquel at night and am currently working on getting to a therapeutic amount of Lamotrigine. I need to study for a test that I will have to take in the coming month but have not felt like doing it and when I do sit down my mind wanders or I don't retain anything. Did anyone else experience this when starting meds?

Yes, this is a side effect of Lamotrigine, and therefore you should consult with the doctor who prescribes pills to you and try to find the medicine that will not affect your mind so much. Once upon a time, I studied at a medical school and read an article about a research center https://www.trinityschoolofmedicine.org/blog/is-research-required-for-medical-school, and I wanted to work in it to get some experience. But at that time, I had an accident, and I got a head injury, which significantly interfered with my assimilation of information because I had constant dizziness. But when I have been prescribed a good drug, I recovered quickly, and moderate physical activity is also essential.
