Calling all thrill-seekers. Whether you’re into hair-raising roller coasters or family-friendly rides, there’s a theme park for you nearby. Here are all the new attractions at your favorite area amusement parks that have opened just in time for summer. The current Luna Park has been a Coney Island staple since taking the place of the former Astroland in 2010, and with good reason. It’s not only the home of the world-famous Coney Island Cyclone, but its Brooklyn boardwalk at its best, with plenty of snacks, games and rides to keep the whole family entertained. What’s new: Adding to its already impressive collection of stomach-droppers, Six Flags debuted the Cyborg Cyber Spin this spring, a 24-seat, seven-story ride that leaves legs dangling as it tosses riders upside and through the air with a futuristic triple box design that spins on three separate axes. What’s new: If you’ve always wanted to take a spin in your own personal hovercraft, now’s your chance, as that’s the theme for the brand-new Wild Whizzer ride on Mariner’s Pier. Meanwhile, the pier has also totally revamped its Pirates of the Wildwoods ride, complete with all-new interiors flaunting 3D fluorescent paint made especially exciting with 3D glasses. For those who prefer their fun of the stationary variety, there’s also a brand new stage that will play host to a series of shows and DJ sets, including a Shore Stop Dance Convention. The park has also added Wi-Fi for 2018. ride on carousel for sale
