The Windrunners are finally reuniting with time for World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth, with Three Sisters set to make Sylvanas, Alleria, and Vereesa together within the third - and final - comic previewing the storyline for the upcoming expansion.
WoW lead narrative designer Steve Danuser created the plot, that was then scripted by Blizzard senior writers Christie Golden and Andrew Robinson. The story shows these sisters preparing to reunite as each remains uncertain about whether their wildly different lives will prove an excessive amount of for their family bonds to support together. All of that sets the stage because of their role in Battle for Azeroth.
“For Alleria,” Danuser says, “she decides that to conserve her son, as a way to preserve her family, she's got to fight a war, it doesn't matter how long it requires or just what the cost. For Vereesa, she loses her husband Rhonin if your Horde attacks Theramore, and dedicates herself to cooking sure we have a better world to be with her twin sons. As for Sylvanas - I think she's needed to redefine, in excess of anyone, what family ways to her.”
“I'd originally written a pitch for just a short story that has been going to be about these three sisters, which has a section on each of them using their company points of view when they come together," Danuser says. "But we thought, as an alternative to doing this being a short story or working to make it work within the context with the game, imagine if this was the basis for just a comic?
