BTS fans get ready, fun is coming to the Disney Plus streaming app. Citing information from The Verge, Friday (15/7/2022), Disney Plus announced a collaboration with Hybe, BTS's label.
Through this collaboration, Disney Plus will bring five content titles to the streaming platform. Of the five titles, three of them will feature BTS.
Two of his exclusive projects include the documentary BTS: Permission to Dance On Stage - LA. The show is in the form of a 4K film, as a documentation of BTS' live performance at Sofi Stadium, last November.
There's also the documentary BTS Monuments: a documentary about BTS that is said to feature access to a library of music and recordings over the past nine years.
Another show that will also be present on Disney Plus is In The Soop: Friendcation, a travel reality show starring BTS member V aka Kim Tae-hyung and a number of other entertainers, namely Parasite film actor Choi Woo-shik.
The two are said to have a close friendship with each other.
According to Disney, the program will see the two go on surprise trips and enjoy a variety of fun recreational activities.
The title above appears to be a spin-off of BTS In The Soop, a two-season reality show that follows BTS' long-distance vacation. In Korean, 'Soop' is a play on 'forest'.
Disney Plus Intensively Presents Korean Content
For your information, Disney Plus is constantly trying to develop its contents, one of which is through Korean shows.
Over the past year, Disney Plus has often presented Korean serial content, such as Snowdrop, the Korean drama that is reportedly the most viewed in the Asia-Pacific market, starring Blackpink's Jisoo and Jung Hae-in.
Not only Korean-related content, Disney also said that it is trying to give the green light to more than 50 APAC Originals by 2023
Disney Plus Will Present 4 Minute Ads
Apart from BTS content, previously, Disney Plus announced plans to embed advertisements in its service, but the latest information reveals more fully what the concept will be like.
Citing The Wall Street Journal via Gizchina, Friday (20/5/2022), ads on Disney Plus will be 4 minutes long in movies or shows that are screened for 1 hour or less.
According to WSJ sources, this concept allows the company to show fewer ads per hour than its competitors, namely NBC's Peacock, HBO Max, and Hulu.
Peacock NBC itself provides 5 minutes per hour for an ad to appear on its service, while HBO Max only 4 minutes per hour.
In addition, it was also revealed that the ads that will appear on the Disney Plus service while streaming will not appear on children's profiles.
The company will also remove ads when they appear in event content specifically aimed at preschoolers.
The plan is that the new Disney Plus package with a lower price and ad support will begin to be present in the United States this year, and will be introduced in other countries.
Information, Netflix will do the same on their streaming platform. The company plans to lower the price of their service with the consequence of adding advertisements.
This is, of course, a way for Netflix to be able to increase the number of their subscribers, which is decreasing.
