Long-term care services can include assisted living facilities and special housing if needed. This is typically the most expensive option, but it is also the most beneficial to most patients because they do not have to go through the daily routines like those in the short-term care services.

   

  Another type of home health service is a private pay in home setting. Many families and individuals choose this type of care for their loved ones because it is less expensive and allows them a greater degree of privacy. There are a few disadvantages to using a private pay in home setting though. One is that the family has to spend extra money on hiring the nurse, the caretaker, and the other items needed for their loved one. Another drawback is that the family does not know how their loved one is doing and if the long-term care provider is providing a high standard of care. This is why it is usually best to choose a private long-term care provider if the need for care is only short-term.
