The show's story revolves around Hiyori Iki, who is a high school student. One day, she encounters a terrible accident and from there, her life changes forever.
After the accident, her soul often began to slip out of her body, and this gave rise to the awareness of two parallel universes. Furthermore, the story shows two shores, on one shore humans reside, and on the other shore demons and human souls remain.
Also, in the previous season, Yato confessed to Yukine about his past killing people. Yukine, however, comforted him by telling him that it was her past and that she should move on. Later in the series, we see Yato, who asks Hiyori and Yukine to suggest something about her abilities.
Later, they advised him that Yato should use his abilities to kill Ayakashi instead of killing people. The season finale showed the revelation of the true identity of Yato's father, who is actually "Fujisaki". Season 3 is expected to have more interesting reveals and fights.
