  This requires an annual recertification and thus continuous training and further education. Different states require different certifications, and some states require licensing exams in radiology in order to take x-rays. Earning the dental assistant certificate gives the employer the assurance and security that they are hiring someone who has the skills and credibility needed to perform the job.
