Ultrasonic level meter: Its working principle is based on sound waves. By emitting high-frequency pulse sound waves, the sound waves are reflected when they encounter the surface of the measured liquid (such as water surface), and the reflected sound wave signal is received by the same transducer (probe) and converted into an electrical signal. By calculating the time difference between the emission and reception of ultrasonic waves, combined with the propagation speed of sound waves, the distance from the sensor to the measured liquid is calculated. It has high measurement accuracy and stability, can achieve millimeter-level liquid level measurement, and has a large measurement range.

During use, the characteristics of ultrasonic level meters mainly include the following points:

    1. Non-contact measurement: The working principle of ultrasonic level meters can achieve non-contact measurement of liquid level height without contamination and damage to the liquid.

    2. High accuracy: Because ultrasonic measurement is used, the error is very small and the accuracy is high. Ultrasonic level meters can achieve millimeter-level measurement of liquid level height and ensure the accuracy and stability of measurement.

    3. Wide range of applications: Ultrasonic level meters can measure various liquids, whether they are liquids with large dielectric constants or liquids with bubbles or particles, and can accurately measure the liquid level height, with a wide range of applications.

    4. High reliability: Ultrasonic level meters are shock-resistant and anti-interference, and are suitable for liquid level measurement in industrial environments.

    5. Flexible installation: The installation of ultrasonic level meters is relatively simple and flexible. They can be installed in various containers and environments, and are usually not limited by the shape and material of the container.

According to the different structures, ultrasonic level meters can be divided into two types: integrated and split.

    Integrated ultrasonic level meter:

The integrated ultrasonic level meter integrates the ultrasonic probe, signal processing unit, display, etc. in one device. All measurement and control functions are completed in the same housing.

Easy installation: Due to its compact structure, only one device needs to be fixed during installation, eliminating the complicated wiring and installation process.

Full-featured: Suitable for harsh environments of various industrial levels, with a protection level of up to IP66/IP67. And there are many models to choose from, such as corrosion-resistant type, explosion-proof type, etc.

Simplified calibration: The integrated design makes the calibration process of the equipment simpler and more efficient. Usually, only the overall system needs to be calibrated, rather than multiple separate components.

Integrated ultrasonic level meters are commonly used in storage tanks, industrial wastewater treatment, chemical reaction tanks, shallow pools, etc.

    Split ultrasonic level meter:

The split ultrasonic level meter consists of a probe and a signal processing unit. The probe is installed at the measurement point, while the signal processing unit can be installed in a control room or other convenient location far away from the measurement point. The two are connected by a cable.

Strong anti-interference ability: After the probe and signal processing unit are separated, the signal processing unit can be kept away from areas with high temperature, high pressure or strong electromagnetic interference, thereby improving measurement accuracy and reliability.

Easy operation: The signal processing unit usually has a larger display screen and more operation interfaces, which is convenient for operators to adjust and view.

Strong adaptability: The split design can adapt to harsh measurement environments, such as high temperature, corrosive gas or liquid environments, and the probe can be made of special materials to withstand the conditions.

Split ultrasonic level meters are suitable for large storage tanks, level measurement of complex process flows, level monitoring in high temperature or highly corrosive environments, etc., especially for applications that require remote operation or need to prevent interference from the on-site environment.
