Ultrasonic level meter is a non-contact liquid level measuring instrument. It uses the characteristics of ultrasonic wave propagation in the air and calculates the liquid level by measuring the time difference from the emission to the return of ultrasonic wave. The following are some practical sharings on the application of ultrasonic level meter:

    1. Choose a suitable ultrasonic level meter

Consider the measurement environment: Select a suitable ultrasonic level meter according to the properties of the measured liquid (such as corrosiveness, viscosity, etc.), temperature, pressure and other parameters. For corrosive liquids, ultrasonic level meters with anti-corrosion properties should be selected.

Accuracy and range: Select the appropriate measurement accuracy and range according to actual needs. For example, the Uson series ultrasonic level meter provides a variety of range options such as 5 meters, 10 meters, and 15 meters, which are suitable for different scenarios.

    2. Correct installation

Location selection: It should be installed 0.5-1.0m above the measurement point, and should not be too close or too far from the vertical wall of the container. Avoid installation in places with strong vibration, strong magnetic field interference, foam and fog, as well as at the feed inlet or outlet.

Installation angle: When the measured medium is a conductor or corrosive gas, the installation angle should be greater than 45°.

Installation height: Set the distance from the emitting surface of the sensor probe to the bottom of the container according to actual needs.

    3. Debugging and calibration

Debugging: After installation, debugging is required to ensure accurate measurement. Adjust the position of the transmitter and the receiving head to ensure that the ultrasonic wave can return smoothly. Adjust the instrument parameters such as temperature and pressure according to actual conditions.

Calibration: Including 4mA calibration, 20mA calibration, range calibration, sound velocity calibration and temperature calibration. Follow the steps in the product manual to calibrate and ensure that the measurement accuracy meets the requirements.

    4. Daily maintenance

Regular inspection: Regularly check whether the appearance and fasteners of the ultrasonic level meter are normal, keep the instrument clean, and avoid the influence of dust, dirt, etc. on the measurement results.

Maintain the measurement environment: Ensure that the measurement environment is clean and dry, avoid strong vibration and impact, so as not to affect the measurement accuracy and service life.

Anti-corrosion measures: For corrosive liquids, regularly check whether the anti-corrosion performance of the ultrasonic level meter is good, and replace or maintain it if necessary.

    5. Precautions

Avoid interference: During installation and commissioning, avoid routing with other irrelevant equipment in the same pipe to avoid mutual interference.

Range setting: Set the output value of the low point and the high point of the range according to the actual measurement requirements.

Measurement mode: Select distance mode or level mode according to actual needs.

    6. Application scenarios

Ultrasonic level meters are widely used in various liquid storage and transportation occasions, such as storage tanks, troughs, pools, wells, canals, metering boxes, granaries, silos, etc. Its high precision, high stability and non-contact measurement characteristics make it the preferred tool for level measurement in many industries.
