Madelyn Cline is an American actress and model known for her starring role as Sarah Cameron in the Netflix drama series Outer Banks.
He was born on December 21, 1997 in Charleston, South Carolina, USA to Mark and Pam Cline. Her father is a water systems engineer and her mother is a real estate agent. Madelyn is also known by her nickname, Maddie. She began modeling at the age of 10. She often spent her summers in New York, where she worked on print ads and television commercials for brands like T-Mobile, Next, and Sunny D. She also appeared on the cover of American Girl magazine. She had joined Coastal Carolina University. However, she dropped out of school to become an actress at the age of 19. She later moved to Los Angeles, California, against her parents' wishes. Her parents still live in South Carolina but are supportive of her career.
Career
Madelyn Cline was already a budding model when she decided to move to Los Angeles to start an acting career. She was cast as Matilda in the 2009 short film Milites Christi. She appeared as Maya Smith in the 2011 thriller 23rd Psalm: Redemption and as Ashlyn in the 2012 short film Children of Wax.
She was later seen as Tanya in the 2014 short film Bridge the Gap, as Willow in the 2016 comedy film Savannah Sunrise, and as Grace Alexander in the 2016 TV movie The Jury. The 2017 series The Originals featured her as Jessica. In 2017, she appeared in the minor role of Tina in the second season of the Netflix sci-fi series Stranger Things. In 2016–2017, she appeared as Taylor Watts on the series Vice Principals. She also appeared as Luna in the short Wild Flowers and as Jenny in the series Maid to Order, both in 2017. She then appeared in the small role of Chloe in the 2018 film Boy Erased. In 2019, she was seen as Olivia in The Giant. The role that made her a household name was that of Sarah Cameron in the Netflix original series Outer Banks. The teen adventure series premiered on April 15, 2020.
She believes that the role of Sarah demanded a lot of stamina on her part, as it has been the longest role she has played. She had initially auditioned for another character, Kiara, and she had not liked the part very much. She then read the script for Sarah's role and loved the story. She instantly wanted to turn the character into something quirky and relatable. Madelyn Cline identified with the character as she transitioned and held her own. She felt that women are always criticized for expressing her opinions. She also likes the fact that Sarah is an eco-conscious character. Madelyn also identifies with Sarah's insecurities.
