Jang Woo-jin, Lim Jong-hoon, Ahn Jae-hyun, Park Kang-hyun lose in semifinals
Can Shin Yubin-Jeon Hee stop China's dominance in all seven events?

Two South Korean men's table tennis doubles pairs reached the semifinals of the Asian Championships to keep their gold medal hopes alive, but both were stopped by China and failed to reach the final. China improved its chances of winning all seven events at the tournament in Anbang, 스포츠토토 South Korea.

World No. 1 men's doubles pair Jang Woo-jin and Lim Jong-hoon fell 1-3 (11-6 5-11 8-11 7-11) to Marung and Wang Chuqin (China) in the men's doubles quarterfinals at the 2023 International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF)-Asia Table Tennis Union (ATTU) Pyeongchang Asian Championships on Monday morning at the Pyeongchang Dome in Pyeongchang County, Gangwon Province.

Jang Woo-jin and Lim Jong-hoon gave the inexperienced pair a promising start by taking the first game, but dropped the next three games to fall behind.

Ahn Jae-hyun and Park Kang-hyun lost to Pan Zhen-dong and Ling Gaoyuan (CHN) in the previous quarterfinal match with a game score of 1-3 (9-11 11-5 6-11 7?11).

Ahn Jae-hyun and Park Kang-hyun played confidently in the second game to level the score at 1-1, but the difference in quality was evident.

As a result, Korean men's table tennis failed to reach the final. Jang Woo-jin and Lim Jong-hoon won a silver medal at the 2021 Doha Games, which was canceled by China due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but they failed to reach the final at this year's event in Anbang and settled for two bronze medals. 토토 South Korea's only other gold medal in men's doubles at an Asian Games was won by Kang Hee-chan and Lee Chul-seung in Lucknow, India, in 1992.

China, on the other hand, is closing in on an all-around sweep. Having already won gold in the men's and women's team events, China secured gold in the women's singles by sending all four players to the semifinals. The men's doubles and mixed doubles finalists are also all Chinese, so the gold medal is already in the bag.

In the men's singles, three of the four semifinalists are Chinese, so a Chinese gold medal is likely.

Women's doubles will be key. In the women's doubles semifinals on Tuesday, 스포츠토토링크 Shin Yubin and Jeon Jeon-hee will take on China's Sun Yingsha and Wang Yidi. In another semifinal match, Japan's Miyu Kihara and Miyu Nagasaki will face China's Wang Manyu and Chen Meng.
