Beautiful, economical, functional and ecological, synthetic turf is a very advantageous covering in many ways.
Every year, several thousand people choose this flooring to improve the aesthetics of their garden and to reduce their bills.
Synthetic turf goes perfectly with all kinds of materials (wood, stone, metal) and landscaping (pergolas, rockeries, slabs, swimming pools) for a green garden all year round, low in water and maintenance .
What is the cost of such an installation?
Which model of synthetic turf to choose? Can we do the installation alone? Is it better to entrust this project to a pro?
In the garden, there are no "prohibited" synthetic turfs. You can still eliminate very short models, less than 25 millimeters, which have a poor visual rendering, especially on surfaces greater than 20 m2. Beyond this height, you can afford almost anything. The thickness of a lawn must above all take into account your tastes. Keep two things in mind:
The longer a strand, the more the synthetic turf will look like real natural lawn: they will give your garden the atmosphere of a clearing or a green meadow in any season.
The shorter a strand, the more functional it will be: if your garden hosts your children's football games, garden furniture, deck chairs, and your lawn is regularly trodden, a height of between 30 and 45 millimeters will be ample the case. These short to mid-length strands will perfectly mimic manicured natural grass.
Use a rather long lawn, to lay out purely ornamental surfaces: the blade is not likely to lie down too frequently.

Use short to mid-length grass if your garden gets a lot of foot traffic: you won't have to brush your synthetic grass too often to get it back to its original shape.
Is it difficult to lay artificial grass in a garden?
Laying artificial grass is not always a cakewalk. On a hard floor, such as a terrace or a balcony, it is relatively simple. Once the support is clean, you roll out your lawn and, if by chance you have no joints to make, it will only take a few hours.
For installation in a garden or on land, the work is often longer and more tedious. There are many reasons for this. Many factors will influence the difficulty of the pose.
Also, it is better to estimate the time needed for a solo pose to avoid being caught off guard and overwhelmed by events.
The general shape of your land, to estimate the number and shape of your cutouts
Its accessibility to manage the supply of sand: by truck, wheelbarrow, with a construction machine, a crane, etc.
The dynamism of your floor: does it sag easily? is it already hard and compact? Does it have bumps, holes, a sufficient slope for the evacuation of rainwater? Has it undergone recent transformations: construction of an underground swimming pool, felling of trees, uprooting of stumps, addition of topsoil, embankments, etc.
Measure the total area to be covered with synthetic turf. Different measurement techniques exist to perform this calculation as accurately as possible;
Make a plan to scale;
Choose in which direction you are going to roll out your lawn (All the rolls of grass must then be rolled out in the same direction!);
Determine the number and size of rolls you will need to cover your garden; be careful, the rolls of 4 meters by 12.5 meters weigh between 130 and 150 kilos!
Estimate the quantity of sand to be delivered and compacted before laying the geotextile and then the fake grass: count between 50 and 80 kilos of crushed sand per m2.
Calculate the quantity of accessories needed to lay your geotextile, make the joints and fix the grass to the ground.
Plan a solution for brushing your synthetic turf at the end of the work: using a thermal or electric straightener, or a road broom.
Can garden furniture be installed on artificial grass?
It's a fairly recurring question: can garden furniture damage synthetic turf? To be honest, no. There is no weight limit or specific recommendations on this subject.
The weight of the furniture will simply lay down the fiber of your lawn without damaging or breaking it.
The strands will simply settle, under the legs of tables, chairs, parasols... but it will be enough to brush them so that they regain their original volume and verticality.
If you must dress decorative elements with your synthetic lawn: do not cut your lawn around planters or flower pots, as these can break or be moved over time. You shouldn't make a hole in your lawn where there used to be a pot.
Here too, all you have to do is brush your lawn when you change the place of your decoration!

What equipment should be used to maintain an artificial garden lawn?
A quality synthetic turf has a lifespan of more than 20 years. Its maintenance requires very little intervention and therefore few tools.
In the garden, one cleaning with a karcher and one brushing per year are recommended, to straighten and thoroughly clean the fibers compacted by trampling and decorative furniture. You can get a thermal or electric straightener, wired or battery-powered, but you can also straighten your lawn by hand, by brushing it with a road broom.
You can complete this operation by disinfecting your lawn. All you have to do then, when you deem it necessary, is to spray a suitable product on the surface. Leave it on for several minutes before rinsing it off.
For the rest, pick up dead leaves and dust with a blower/vacuum or a plastic leaf rake, to avoid damaging the blades of artificial grass.

Are artificial turfs and pets a good mix?
Among the recurring questions of our customers are in a good position all those related to synthetic turf and pets.
The polymer fiber used to produce synthetic turf is by definition inert and therefore harmless in the event of contact or ingestion: animals and humans therefore risk no intoxication, allergy or poisoning.
The strong point in a garden is that synthetic turf limits the proliferation of weeds but also dangerous parasites for dogs and cats, such as fleas, ticks and mosquitoes.
Is your animal the tonic type? Know that synthetic turf is preferred by sports halls dedicated to animals. Its comfort and resistance to claws and bites is well established.
If your pet prefers to bask in the sun, artificial turf will suit them perfectly, especially the softness of our 100% polyethylene strands.
In addition, artificial grass is a great solution to avoid mud and puddles: while your companions may egret that they can no longer roll in the mud, you will be happy to keep your interior clean longer!
Finally, in case of droppings, know that synthetic turf can be cleaned as well as traditional carpet. The advantage is that it does not stain and that it can be washed with plenty of water, with a jet of pressurized water, occasionally using a suitable cleaner.

Will the rain damage my artificial grass?
Artificial grass is a permeable covering. Water flows through it through regularly spaced drainage holes.
Azurio lawns evacuate 360 liters of water per square meter per hour; this exceeds the amounts of precipitation recorded during the worst Cevennes and Mediterranean episodes.
The regular drilling of the frame therefore allows a regular and homogeneous flow of rainwater which continues to infiltrate into the ground.
In the event of heavy rainfall, the fiber can bend under the weight of the water: brushing is then necessary to find synthetic turf that is shiny and like new!
