Albir acquired the status of a city quite recently, in 1863 it was officially declared independent. Before that, it was only a suburb of Benidorm and did not have a clearly defined territory.

Many of the vacationers loved these places so much that they couldn't go home anymore, forming the main population of Albir. Therefore, it is also one of the most "European" cities in Spain.

Albir is an incredibly quiet, cozy town, ideal for family life with children. Older people will like it here, amazing nature, healing air, and the absence of industry have turned this place into a wonderful resort.

But young people won't be bored here either, because "party" Benidorm is a five-minute drive away.

    Features of the city
Prices are quite reasonable in Albir, especially if compared with large cities. Buying an apartment or a house near the coast is much easier financially, and there are no downsides to living in this city. Most of the buildings were built recently and are in excellent technical condition.

It is also interesting that there are no buildings above five floors. This is dictated by the state's concern for nature. There are many gardens, vineyards, and park zones, which only emphasize the magnificence of the mountain range. The modern architecture looks organically and incredibly beautiful in such and such a frame.

Albir used to be divided by a river, which often burst its banks in winter due to rains and flooded the first floors of houses. The city authorities decided to move the channel outside the city, and the dry channel was turned into a place of recreation for tourists and citizens.

    The climate of Albir
The climate in Albir is mild because the city is located in a cozy bay, it is windless and calm almost all the time. The temperature in summer is kept at +35-40ºС, in winter the thermometer drops to 17º.

The water temperature in the holiday season rises to 26 °C, swimming is possible until October, and in autumn the sea warms up to 22-23 °C. The cooling starts only in the second week of November.

The winter is mild, with almost no rain, and hats and warm jackets are not even mentioned.

    Transport
Citizens mostly move around the city in their cars or use taxi services. Those who come to the city, most often rent a car. The rental price depends on the period for which you need the vehicle, the brand, and the prestige of the model. But it is worth considering that the streets of the city are not very wide, so it can be inconvenient on an SUV.

Bicycles are popular among citizens, riding a two-wheeled vehicle is not considered something extraordinary, on the contrary, it is a sign of a reasonable attitude to the environment, and such a method is actively promoted.

    How to get to Albir
The nearest international airport is located in Alicante, there is also a train station. You can get to Benidorm, and from there to Albir by bus or narrow-gauge train, similar to our train. If speed is important, then right in the airport building there is an agency that provides cars for rent.

    Entertainment in Alberta
Even though Albir received official status recently, people have lived on this territory for more than one thousand years. Therefore, excavations are carried out here and excursions and interesting exhibitions are organized. One exposition is replaced by another, and new facts and interesting details constantly appear. It will not be boring on Bulevar de Los musicos.

Another interesting place is the Casablanca Music Bar (Kazablanca Live Music Bar). It would seem like a banal establishment, but the first impression is deceptive. Live performances of well-known and novice groups take place here, and the level of each performance is very high. According to tourists, this is the best music bar on the coast.

Another one, beloved by both citizens and guests of the city, the Hepburns bar will simply amaze you. There are no haute cuisine dishes here, and they do not offer exotic food. The main advantage of this bar is an incredibly friendly atmosphere, its owners try to please every guest and make everything comfortable.

    Sierra Gelada National Park
The pride of the Spaniards - Sierra Gelada National Park is located between Albir and Benidorm. Several hundred types of plants grow here, and many birds live, which are found in such numbers only in the second large park of the Sierra Nevada.

Walking and cycling tours take place on the territory, and there is a well-equipped parking lot at the entrance.
