There are various styles of Control Ball Valve bodies which have been developed through the years. Some have been used in a variety of applications to meet specific service conditions, while some are used less frequently. But whether they have wide applications or not, they all have their own features and specific functions.

In addition to various types of globe valves, there are also many different categories of rotary valves. Butterfly valve bodies are the first and the most important kind. Butterfly valve bodies offer economy, particularly in larger sizes and in terms of flow capacity per investment. They can provide high capacity with low pressure loss through the valves. They might require high-output or large actuators if the valve is big or the pressure drop is high, because operating torques might be quite large.

Standard butterfly valves are available in sizes through 72-inch for miscellaneous control valve applications. Smaller sizes can use versions of traditional diaphragm or piston pneumatic actuators, including the modern rotary actuator styles. Larger sizes might require high-output electric or long-stroke pneumatic cylinder actuators. Butterfly valves exhibit an approximately equal percentage flow characteristic. The second are the V-notch ball control Ball valve manufacturers bodies.
