Hoi An's Mornings: Sunrise Photography in Vietnam's Gem

If you're a Hoi An Photographer, it's well worth getting up early to experience the best of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. While the yellow walls of the Old Town are arguably the most iconic images to take, there is so much more to see beyond this well-worn exterior.

The local merchants in the town centre are a great example of this. In the early hours you'll find them going to and from the market and they can be quite patient when posing for photos. The women like Dai are especially friendly and if you do take a photo it's always a good idea to support them by buying some fruit (they will obviously charge you more than usual as they're charging for the 'experience').

An Bang beach and the nearby Tra Que village are also beautiful places to visit at dawn, particularly in late August and September when the sand on Cua Dai beach is mostly gone and you can compose some incredible images with the remaining palm trees. The rice fields are also beautiful at this time of year as well - they're flooded with stunning colours.
